Detained in Dubai

Detained International and Detained in Dubai are separate companies, there are no reciprocal working or commercial relationships.  Detained International has no association with Radha Stirling or any of her employees or associates.

However, in March 2016, after 22 months arbitrary detention in Dubai, David Haigh, the Founder of Detained International, dedicated himself to fighting for those who fall foul of the cavalier approach to justice that characterises many Gulf states.  As Detained in Dubai also existed, he decided to work with Radha Stirling.  For a while they worked together and enjoyed a number of successes.

In 2018 there was a clash of ethos – David wanted to offer help to victims on the basis of need, not ability to pay.  Rhada Stirling had a different approach.  Thereafter, Detained International and Detained in Dubai terminated the relationship.  David has remained professional and has sought not to comment or be drawn into unnecessary or unpleasant debate.  The focus at Detained International is the clients and the injustices we fight.

Unfortunately, Radha Stirling and her associates engaged in a smear campaign against David personally and Detained in Dubai often claims mandates to represent victims of injustice that it simply doesn’t have.  Radha Stirling also claims to be a legal representative when she has absolutely no legal qualifications.

Detained International also has grave concerns about Shahid King Bolsen, the husband of Rhada Sterling and his continued involvement at Detained in Dubai.  He is openly critical of the LBGT community, a convicted murderer and extremely controversial in his opinions on Human Rights and he appears to condone terrorism.  This is something that we cannot be associated with.  And whilst we are thankful that he escaped the death penalty, we do not feel he has been rehabilitated or shown any remorse for his crimes.

Thank you for visiting Detained.org.uk.

Our new website is launching soon.

Detained International is a not-for-profit human rights organisation providing free legal advocacy, crisis support, and media and political campaigning for victims of injustice in Dubai and the wider UAE. While we put the finishing touches to our new site, we are also excited to be unveiling a fresh rebrand and have some exciting news about joining forces with some fantastic fellow human rights advocates, together, we will be an even more indomitable force for those who have nowhere else to turn. One thing remains constant, when individuals and families face their most desperate moments in Dubai and the wider UAE, we are there for them, free of charge.

Our team of specialist lawyers, crisis managers, media, PR and communications experts, and expert witnesses has an unrivalled track record across some of the most high-profile human rights cases in Dubai and the UAE. Whether it is a wrongful arrest, a custody dispute, cross-border litigation, an Interpol Red Notice, bringing an injustice to the United Nations, our international campaign to free Princess Latifa, our support to Princess Haya, or our work standing alongside the remarkable and courageous Zeynab Zavadli in her fight for justice for herself and her children, we have been at the forefront of it all for over a decade. This new website is long overdue.
