Our vision is a United Arab Emirates and wider Middle East where justice, equality and Human Rights are upheld, protected and promoted in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and where those that act with disregard and contempt for human rights are bought to justice.
We are working towards an ambitious goal. We won’t get there overnight, and we can’t make it on our own, but together we will bring about a better world.
We identify injustice, inequality and other Human Rights violations in the UAE and the wider Middle East.
When we identify injustice, inequality and other Human Rights violations we alert the world’s media and lobby policymakers and national, international and intergovernmental institutions for change.
We provide pro bono legal advocacy, crisis management and media support to those suffering injustice, inequality and other Human Rights violations.
We work to resolve individual cases of injustice, inequality and other Human Rights violations, and we work with the international community to effect lasting policy reform and change to help prevent future injustice.

Detained International is a not-for-profit human rights organisation providing free legal advocacy, crisis support, and media and political campaigning for victims of injustice in Dubai and the wider UAE. While we put the finishing touches to our new site, we are also excited to be unveiling a fresh rebrand and have some exciting news about joining forces with some fantastic fellow human rights advocates, together, we will be an even more indomitable force for those who have nowhere else to turn. One thing remains constant, when individuals and families face their most desperate moments in Dubai and the wider UAE, we are there for them, free of charge.
